Tudor apologizes to Tottenham fans: "I've never seen such a bizarre collapse in the first 20 minutes in my life."

In the first leg of the Champions League Round of 16, Tottenham Hotspur suffered a humiliating 2-5 defeat to Atletico Madrid away from home. Tottenham manager Igor Tudor expressed his deepest apologies to the fans in a post-match interview with the media.

Conceding four goals in just 22 minutes was inevitable, a consequence of a series of defensive lapses and fatal errors. Speaking about this nightmarish start, Tudor first turned his attention to his supporters, his words filled with helplessness and apology: "I need to apologize to all the fans."

"It's simply inexplicable. At least for the first 20 minutes, I've never seen anything like it in my life. It's all really hard to explain."

Tottenham's young goalkeeper Antonin Kinskiy (Tony), making his Champions League debut in this match, was substituted early after conceding three goals, including a basic error caused by directly passing the ball to the opponent in the third goal.

Facing potentially overwhelming criticism from the outside world, Tudor resolutely stood up for his player: "I feel sorry for Toni. I need to talk to him, protect him, and help him. It's not easy for something like this to happen, but he's a very good goalkeeper and a very good person."

Tudor emphasized that despite the painful consequences of the mistake, the team must provide absolute support: "This is a profound lesson. But it's not just about him personally, it's about our entire team."

Besides the crushing defeat, Tudor also expressed his frustration with the team's recent predicament. Towards the end of the match, Cristian Romero and João Paligna suffered head injuries from a collision, further exacerbating the already dire situation.

"It feels like nothing is going right. So we need to stick together now and help each other through this difficult time. We have a tough game against Liverpool coming up, and we have to get through this," Tudor concluded.
